What does "all-geared head" mean in a lathe machine?

An all-geared head means the spindle speed is changed through a gearbox rather than a belt-and-pulley system. This provides constant torque across all speed ranges, better power transmission at low speeds for heavy cuts, and more reliable speed control. Four of our eight lathe configurations are all geared: the VGM-215, AGLM 6'3", VGH-267 Tech Master and AGLM-304.
